Five things to bring to your equipment visit

A little preparation helps you ask better questions and compare the right details.

1. Your questions and priorities

Write down what you need help understanding: fit, transport, available options, service or overall cost. Tell the team what you want the equipment to help you do. Equipment selection should follow any guidance from your healthcare professional.

2. Relevant measurements

Bring the measurements that matter for your situation, such as doorways, storage spaces or vehicle cargo space. Ask which additional measurements are needed before choosing a particular item.

3. The exact product or prescription details

If your clinician has prescribed equipment or specified features, bring those details through the supplier’s approved process. Do not change prescribed therapy based on a showroom demonstration.

4. Questions about the full cost

Ask for the exact model and configuration, what is included, and whether delivery, setup, accessories or ongoing service cost extra. A web price alone does not establish the complete cost.

5. A plan for coverage questions

If you intend to use insurance, confirm supplier participation, required documentation, authorization and expected out-of-pocket cost before buying. A cash purchase is not automatically reimbursable.
